5 things that Computer Science Engineering students should focus on....

What should students be really focusing on?
But wait!
Let me not bias your thoughts. Before you read my list, skip to the comments section below, and put down your list. Then read my list and critique it again in the comments. Hopefully we can have a good discussion that will benefit students.
So, here’s my list of areas need to be thinking about:
  • The next billion customers: The IT revolution has probably reached a billion people of the world so far. In the next 5 years, it will reach the next billion. These will be a very different set of people. Many of them will be illiterate – so you need to focus on non-text, non-English interfaces – video, animations, voice recognition. Search for “English Seekho” to get an idea of what I mean. Most won’t have money or electricity for computers, so mobile devices will rule – so you need to start playing with mobile platforms like Android. In general, search for the “the next billion” and you’ll find some interesting material put together by the likes of Nokia, and MIT giving you ideas on what to focus on.
  • Usability: As IT touches the lives of more and more people, less and less of them will be “computer savvy”, and less and less of them will view computing devices as something that needs to be learnt. Consequently, the products that will succeed, will be the ones that are easy to use. And making something easy to use is rather difficult.
  • Computer Science Fundamentals: This will never go out of fashion, and yes, when I look at students coming out of our colleges, this appears to be a rather neglected area. Far too much emphasis on specific programming languages, and specific “technologies” is a mistake. Whatever the future holds, you will be well served by knowing the basic theory of computer sciences. Learn data-structures and algorithms. If you don’t have a favourite data-structure, and an algorithm that you find beautiful, then your computer science education is incomplete. If, after seeing an algorithm, your first thought is not about the complexity of the algorithm (O(n), O(log n), etc.), then you need to hit your books again. If you’ve only learned Java and C#, and you don’t really understand pointers, heaps, stacks, you will sooner or later be at a disadvantage. Understand the basics. And while you’re at it, also learn mathematics and statistics.
  • Presentation skills: This is not a computer science skill, but this is one of the most important skills that computer science students are missing. You must treat presentation as equally important, or more important than your program, design, and algorithms. And you must spend as much time learning presentation (from books, in classes, and in practice) as you spent on programming languages, and computer science subjects. I’m sure you haven’t done that, hence this item in my list. You should know how to write well. Not just papers and documents, but much more importantly, emails, and blog posts, and facebook wall postings, and tweets.
  •  Economics: “When you have a working knowledge of economics, it’s like having a mild super power.” Basically, if you understand the fundamentals of economics, you can see and understand what drives people and technologies and success and failure a lot better than people who do not understand it. I hated the fact that I was made to study economics in IIT for my computer science course. It seemed like a complete waste of my time. Now, looking back, I think it was probably the most important course.
 What do you think should be focusing on??

Relaxation

Just suppose a situation when you have just returned from a visit out of your hometown, or traveled for long, or worked the whole day, or have recovered from serious illness, or have just finished your examinations... Its natural that you feel tired and want to get out of all the stresses you faced. Now its time for getting relaxed! All of us have particular ways to enjoy the relaxation after some busy times.. And the preconception to these is must!

Dear Friends, here, I am going to discuss with you, some ways with which we can feel relaxed after some busy spent time..

1. Sleeping to get rid of the fatigue
2. Having the evening tea with fibrous biscuits
3. Going for a morning walk
4. Listening to your favorite songs from headphones
5. Spending time on some social networks.. say Facebook
6. Watching your favorite programs on television
7. Eating a lot!! (Even the stomach gets heavy :D)
8. Blogging
9. Sitting alone at rooftop of house
10. Having fun at home with friends

All these are my ways comfort. Share if you agree or want to suggest any other way of leisure..!

THE ENGINEER SONG (Sung to the tune of the Beverly Hillibillies)

Come and listen to a story bout a man name Jed,
A poor College Kid barely kept his family fed
But then one day he was talking to a recruiter,
He said "They'll pay ya big bucks if ya work on a computer",
Unix that is . . . CRT's . . . Workstations;

Well the first thing ya know ol' Jed's an Engineer,
The kinfolk said "Jed move away from here",
They said "Arizona is the place ya oughta be",

So he bought some donuts and he moved to Ahwatukee,
Intel that is . . . dry heat . . . no amusement parks;

On his first day at work they stuck him in cube,
Fed him more donuts and sat him at a tube,
They said "Your project's late but we know just what to do,
Instead of 40 hours, we'll work you fifty-two!"

OT that is . . . unpaid . . . Mandatory

The weeks rolled by and things were looking bad,
Some schedules slipped and some managers were mad,

They called another meeting and decided on a fix,
The answer was simple, "We'll work him sixty-six",
Tired that is . . . stressed out . . . no social life

Months turned into years and his hair was turning gray,
Jed worked hard while his life slipped away,

Waiting to retire when he turned sixty-four,
Instead he got a call and they escorted him out the door,

Laid-off that is . . . Debreifed . . . Unemployed . . .

Prove that (2/10) = 2

1. The Science student said:
     "This is impossible"
2. The Commerce student:
      "This is wrong"
3. The Medical student:
     "It's strange!,how it is possible"
4. The Engineering student : "It's so easy!"
                                            ( 2/10)
                                             Two/Ten
 'T' is common, hence = wo/en
Now,
 'W' is the 23rd letter in English and 'O' is the 15th ;
Similarly,
 'E' is 5th and 'N' is 14th .

  Hence (wo/en) = (23+15) / (5+14)
                         = (38/19)
                         = 2

ENGINEERS ARE NEVER WORRIED FOR:
What is the Answer
THEY WILL ONLY ASK:
Which Answer do u Want...........
"THAT IS AN ENGINEER !!"

Difference between 2-D and 3-D Transformation?

2-D Transformation:-Two dimensional transformation is the process by which we can change the shape,position and direction of any object w.r.t. to any co-ordinate system on background by translation, rotation, scaling and reflection.transformation is described in two categories:

1. Geometric Transformation
2. Co-ordinate Transformation

When object itself is moved relative to a stationary co-ordinate system or background, reffered as geometric transformation and applied to each point of the object.And while the co-ordinate system is moved relative to the object and object is held stationary then this process is termed as co-ordinate transformation.

3-D Transformation:-In three dimensional transformation,here we picture an imagionary pen or pointer which the  user commands to move from point to point.We save this pen's current position in some global variables, only now three variables are required : DF-PEN-X,  DF-PEN-Y and DF-PEN-Z, one for each of the three co-ordinates.

Attitude

Attitude is psychology is defined as evaluative statements or judgement concerning objects,people,or events.Attitude is the way of talking and behaving.However, its significance in our lives is much more.
there are three main components of attitude:
1.Cognitive Component-The rational: opinion/belief.
2.Emotional Component-The Emotive: feelings.
3.Behaviourial Component-An intention to behave is a certain way towards someone/something.
                     Attitude is a way of life.We have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we embrace for that day.aAs they say,the only difference between a good day and bad day, is your attitude.We cannot change our past, or we cannot change the way certain people think.However, the only thing we can possibly change to deal with situations better,is our attitude.

Prove that papa is equal to mama:-

PROVE THAT -- PAPA=MAMA

Answer:-

1.Art student:- "Out of course"
2.Commerce student:-"Wrong Question"
3.Medical student:-"Its Impossible"
4.Engg. :-Hummmmmmmmmmm
               Its so Simple.....

According to Newtons 2nd law,
         F=MA              --------------------(1)

We know that

Pressure(P)=Force(F)
                  ----------
                    Area(A)

P   = F
      ----           ==>    F=PA    ---------------------(2)
       A
 From equation (1) and (2).......
             PA=MA

squaring both sides:----

PAPA=MAMA..........................proved......:)

"Engineers r the species with solution of any problem"
