Difference between 2-D and 3-D Transformation?

2-D Transformation:-Two dimensional transformation is the process by which we can change the shape, position and direction of any object w.r.t. to any co-ordinate system on background by translation, rotation, scaling and reflection.transformation is described in two categories:

1. Geometric Transformation
2. Co-ordinate Transformation

When object itself is moved relative to a stationary co-ordinate system or background, reffered as geometric transformation and applied to each point of the object. And while the co-ordinate system is moved relative to the object and object is held stationary then this process is termed as co-ordinate transformation.

3-D Transformation:-In three dimensional transformation, here we picture an imagionary pen or pointer which the  user commands to move from point to point. We save this pen's current position in some global variables, only now three variables are required : DF-PEN-X,  DF-PEN-Y and DF-PEN-Z, one for each of the three co-ordinates.
